Made for Bucknell University's Department of Theatre and Dance's production of Electra. The director, cfrancis blackwater, wanted 3 furies, with bat like qualities, to appear at the end of this show. The designer, Paula Davis, provided a rendering of the wings and had bought the fabric material she wanted the wings made from. For this project I created a more detailed sketch of how the wings might be constructed and attached, as well as patterned the wing, made a mock-up, and experimented with new craft materials for structure of the wings and masks. The wings were made with flexible plastic tubing, wire, and lycra fabric, while the masks were made using thermoplastics, wire, hot glue, and scrap fabric from the wigs and body suits.
