Jennifer Lippert
Costume Designer
Spider Arms
Made for Berkshire Theatre Group's 2018 production of Tarzan, I acted as costume design assistant and craft artisan/stitcher. Built from material that was in stock. First used craft foam and hot glue to create the pointed ends of the legs. Then cut some fiberboard tubing for other parts of the arms, then covered both parts together with a silk blend. The arms were stuffed with fiber stuffing, to fill in the joints and make a movable and bendable arm. Different fabrics were then applied on top for styling. The arms were then sewn onto the body of the spider, and then sewn together using fishing line.
